This is a review of VAS™ (Versatile Adaptability Solution) Series from Jani Nordman.
What is the new mounting solution from Vector Optics? It’s like a Lego set for shooters, with many ways to set up a red dot or perhaps a prism scope. So many different variations are possible. Let’s have a short, closer look, and maybe you’ll find a set that would work perfectly in your setup.

Like the AR15 platform that is almost endlessly customizable, you’ll be able to customize so many aspects of VAS system, but it’s not perfect in all aspects. I’ll explain below.
You get a selection of three bases: a low, medium, and a high mount. Please follow the link below for the exact measurements.

With the low mount, you’ll get a close to 1/3 co-witness; the medium and high mounts take the sight higher for head-up shooting if you mount them on an AR15. Of course, these mounts will work on any platform that has a Picatinny mount, but just take the height into consideration before making the final purchase decision, so you get the one that works the best with whatever setup you have.

I highly recommend purchasing the quick-release lever (SCRA-QD7) as it seems to be of decent quality, and I’ve had many issues with screws on previous models of vector mounts, so I always try to go to QD options, as the screws seem to strip after a few uses. The one gripe I have with the set is that to use the 45° Offset (SCRA-SM7) and the QD mount, you can’t decide which side the offset will be, so you’ll have to have the QD mount lever on the left side to get the off set to work for right handed shooter, this means if you have the firearm on a sling the QD lever will be towards you shirt meaning when you need to bring the firearm up, there is a possibility for the lever getting caught on you shirt, or anything you have on your chest. I wish the 45° Offset was available on both sides of the mounts; this would fix the issue.

With the VAS system you can mount almost any optic out there, from the link below you can see all the options out there, but here is a short list of the real world name for different mounts, RMR, Shield RMS, C-more, ACRO and the Aimpoint T1, so at least 90% of the optics out there, just a shame that clearly vector has buried the “TEK” footprint, known in the real world as the Docter/Noblex footprint, so beware if you have the older red dots in that footprint you don't have a mount in this system.
Good news to those who are afraid of some mounts about the recoil lugs being just the screws, in these three models, you get two recoil lugs on either end of the mount, meaning it’ll take recoil better with no worries, it’ll warp the screws or break mid shooting.

All the pieces are made from 6061-T6 aluminum, bit of a letdown as I was hoping to get all future mounts and accessories be 7075-T6 as it much more robust, but I understand that one is cheaper and most mounts out there are from 6061 so it’s not like it’ll not be strong enough, just that new optics are made from 7075 I’d think making the mounts as strong would be a smart move.
I highly recommend getting a torque wrench if you’re now planning to make this set work for you, as it’s very important to use the right torque on all the different screws. See the product description for proper torque settings for each screw, or contact Vector Optics customer service if you’re unsure. Torque driver form Vector Optics reviewed here.
I don’t have any prices for you yet, so I can’t tell you the street price yet, but knowing Vector, it won’t break the bank, so if you’re interested in getting a set for your rifle, follow the Vector socials to see when they are launched and see if the price is good for you.
