Review of Scrapper 1x25 MRT Red Dot & Paragon 3x Magnifier Kit with Integrated One-Piece Picatinny Mount (SCRMMK-01)

2026-04-09

This is a review of Scrapper 1x25 MRT Red Dot & Paragon 3x Magnifier Kit with Integrated One-Piece Picatinny Mount (SCRMMK-01) from Ryan Paul.

I personally have not been one to use red dots with a magnifier unit historically. My thought process always was that if I needed magnification, a low power variable optic was the way to go. However, now that I have had a chance to run this red dot/magnifier combo through its paces, I have found that the Scrapper red dot and Paragon magnifier combo is a great solution for those looking for the fast and forgiving target acquisition of a red dot, while needing magnification for shooting at targets that go beyond what your eyes easily see on their own. Combining a red dot optic with a magnifier is nothing new, but when I saw that Vector had gone the extra mile to design an all in one mount for both the red dot and the magnifier unit, I was intrigued. Usually these setups require the optic and magnifier to each have their own riser and mounts, however, the SCRMMK-01 is a one purchase solution that gives you everything you need in one box.

• The mount:

At the core of this combo is the all-in-one mount. It is a robust, machined chunk of aluminum that holds both the red dot as well as the pivoting mount for the magnifier unit. It holds both the Scrapper 1x25 optic and the Paragon 3x magnifier in perfect alignment, and allows the magnifier to pivot into 3 positions. One position directly in line with the optic, one position tucked down and to the left slightly, and out to the right. Each position is held with a detent that I found can be adjusted for additional tension if needed. The mount is a riser assembly that lifts the optic and magnifier to a high position, which would result in a lower 1/3 cowitness with standard ar style rifle sights. This being said, the riser is quite high, and on most rifles (non AR style) would be higher than most people would prefer. I would love for Vector to make a version of this mount that was much lower to be usable on more traditional hunting rifles.

• Scrapper 1x25 red dot:

Vector always does well with their red dot optics in my experience, this was no exception. The glass is very clear and the lens coatings did not result in any significant tinting of the image. The 3 reticle options are a nice thing to have and they were all crisp and clean. The brightness left nothing to be desired, in bright daylight the dot was very visible and crisp. My test rifle was chambered in 350 legend and while it is not the heaviest hitting rifle in the safe, it has more recoil than 223/5.56 does and the Scrapper never lost its zero.

• Paragon 3x magnifier:

The magnifier is a simple enough unit. The controls all did exactly what they were supposed to do. Aligning the center image was easy using the two axis adjustments on the housing, and the diopter focus adjustment was a breeze, just like any rifle scope out there. The lenses in this unit are good. I shot at targets between 100-200 yards with ease, and the clarity through the 3x magnifier was great. No image distortion or chromatic aberration to deal with here.

Overall I have to give a high score to the Scrapper 1x25 red dot and Paragon 3x magnifier combo (SCRMMK-01). I think it functions well as a one and done solution that provides a singular mounting device for both the optic and magnifier. It is definitely robust, and does everything it is designed to do quite well.
