This is a review of RoKstad 55mm Quick Stop Ball Head (RSRH-03) and RokStad FLA Aluminum Shooting Tripod (RSAL-T01) from Bertus Coetzee.
I’ve now used the RoKstad 55mm Quick Stop Ball Head (RSRH-03) together with the RokStad FLA Aluminum Shooting Tripod (RSAL-T01) in real hunting and shooting situations, and I’m very impressed with the complete setup.
What stood out to me first is how stable the tripod feels when shooting. Once the rifle is locked in, it gives me a solid shooting platform and takes a lot of movement out of the rifle. I used it during a recent hunt and it gave me the confidence to settle into the shot properly without fighting the rifle or trying to hold it steady.
My favourite part is definitely the quick-stop and quick-lever system. I can get the rifle onto the tripod quickly, use the lever to adjust the rifle fast, and then lock it solidly into position. In hunting situations where things can happen quickly, this makes a big difference.
I also really like how the ball head allows me to smoothly adjust the rifle while still keeping it supported. It works especially well when shooting from standing or elevated positions, where you don’t always have a tree, rest or solid surface available.
Another big advantage is the weight. The complete setup is light enough to carry around in the bush, but it still feels strong and stable when the rifle is mounted. I’ve carried it while hunting, used it from a shooting position overlooking the bush, and also used it for general shooting and training.
For me it is useful for almost everything — hunting in the bush, longer shots where I want extra stability, range training and shooting competitions. It is quick to set up, easy to adjust and gives me a much more stable shooting position.
This has become one of those pieces of equipment that stays with me. I won’t go hunting, training, to the shooting range or to a competition without it.
Very happy with the RoKstad 55mm Quick Stop Ball Head (RSRH-03) and RokStad FLA Aluminum Shooting Tripod (RSAL-T01) combination and I would definitely recommend it to other hunters and shooters.
