This is a review of Vector Optics Frenzy FLEX 24x29 MRT Red Dot Sight (SCRD-M76) from Jomi Garrucho.

After several range sessions with the Vector Optics Frenzy FLEX 24x29 MRT Red Dot Sight (SCRD-M76), I'm genuinely impressed with its performance. It has become one of my favorite optics for fast-paced shooting, especially when speed and target transitions matter.

Pros

  • Large 24×29 mm window makes it easy to find and track the dot.

  • Large outer ring reticle naturally guides your eye back to the dot during rapid strings.

  • Excellent for fast follow-up shots and quick target transitions.

  • Side-loading battery allows battery changes without removing the optic or losing zero.

  • Auto on/off (motion activation) works well and helps extend battery life.

  • Despite the large window, it's still compact enough for everyday carry (EDC).

Cons

  • Open emitter design. Not really a downside for me, but some shooters may prefer a fully enclosed optic for harsh environments.

  • Red reticle. I personally prefer green dots, so this comes down to personal preference rather than performance.

Range Performance

The large window is where this optic really shines. Dot acquisition is extremely fast, and the generous field of view makes tracking the dot during rapid follow-up shots feel effortless. Target transitions are smooth, and I rarely found myself searching for the dot.

Over multiple range sessions, including rainy days, the optic held zero perfectly and continued to perform without any issues. I had complete confidence in the optic throughout my testing.

Final Thoughts

The Frenzy FLEX Gen II is an outstanding value for shooters looking for a competition-oriented pistol optic without spending premium-brand money. The oversized window and forgiving sight picture make it exceptionally fast, whether you're shooting drills, matches, or simply practicing at the range.

While it's clearly designed with competition in mind, I think it's still compact enough to work well on an EDC pistol if you don't mind running an open-emitter optic.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. If your priority is speed, fast dot acquisition, and quick target transitions, the Vector Optics Frenzy FLEX deserves a serious look. It offers premium performance at a very competitive price. Its large competition-style window, side-loading battery, and motion-sensing auto on/off make it a standout option for dynamic pistol shooting.
