Alright dudes I dont see any recent reviews in here so here's something I've been looking into recently - a multi reticle red dot. Brace yourself for another profeshunal review by yours truly
I have been wanting to pick up an ACRO-style red dot for my PCC (as well as a top piggyback-style SPR/DMR setup) and do testing with multi-reticle red dots. After using a friend’s multi-reticle red dot on his pistol, I thought it was a very cool concept. Theres also a new VAS mount from Vector they are advertising as well with a QD lever.
The Holosun ARO Gold Dot which I purchased earlier this year was not an MR version so trying out this new one from Vector was an easy decision with its 3 reticle choices and ACRO-style enclosed housing.
The Frenzy FA 18x22 Enclosed MRT Red Dot Sight (SCRD-M75) is a very nice compact red dot sight which feels sturdy and well-built with a fully 7075-T6 aluminum housing and battery cap. The recessed adjustments are also in line with modern red dot design trends as not to crush the windage and elevation knobs during use.
The feature set of this ACRO-style red dot looks to be standard with the red dot industry and includes all the modern specifications such as motion on/off, a 22MM window size per the specs, and an IP67 water rating.
My favorite reticle of the new multi-reticle choices - the circle-dot - is as we all know from Eotech and has been adopted by several red dot companies. Most manufacturers also include either a 2 MOA dot, a 2MOA dot and 65 MOA circle dot combo, and a 65 MOA circle with no center dot – which this model has all three of.
The glass in the M75 is very clear to my eye and incorporates a slight blue tint with standard orange and green hue reflective coatings and forward lens tilt. All reticle modes are clear, and the circle-dot-style reticle makes target acquisition very simple. A slight parallax shift is present at the very edges of the glass viewing area and after testing it seems to be the same shift as other red dots in this price range. No ones perfect I guess.
In hand the VAS mount feels like a solid choice for the ACRO-style mounting of the SCRD-M75 enclosed red dot and its specs show that it’s a modular mounting system. The system is pretty much a-la-carte with various features such as the ability to add a 45-degree accessory to the mount much like UNITY and Badger Ordnance mounts, etc.
The VAS mount locks up solid and holds zero but has several quirks to each part that I think Vector needs to refine. Aspects such as screw sizing and mounting tolerance in a version 2.0 model, perhaps. The provided screws for the dots and the adapter plates were too long to be used on a variety of red dots I have on hand such as the Holosun ARO or Sig Sauer Romeo5 and had to be shortened on a grinding wheel.
The ACRO adapter/mounting plate for the VAS system also looks to be machined to an incorrect tolerance so the M75 is ever so slightly crooked (shown in the rear mounted view below) on the VAS mount when fully torqued down. This is not a huge issue as the amount of tilt is less than a few degrees but still shows a flaw in the cutting angle or tolerance of the final machined part.
A slight cosmetic issue is that the QD lever for the VAS system cannot be used in any orientation without the graphics being upside down. For me I like to have the QD lever on my support side closing to the rear as to be manipulated with that hand if needed, and when I orient it like any other Larue or ADM QD lever position the graphics are upside-down. Again – not a deal breaker as maybe the other quirks – but something to note none-the-less.

So, will these make their way permanently onto the PCC or other setups? The M75 multi-reticle red dot for sure. I want to try and use the M75 as a piggyback red dot solution over top of the 2-12 scope model when I finally receive it as I mentioned previously. I’ve been seeing lots of pictures with users showing ACRO dots on top of their scopes so that will be a great experiment to try for me next in a SPR or DMR role.
The VAS mounting system will need more reliability testing on my end before I keep it on a 9mm or 5.56-caliber setup and will be moved to a .22LR conversion for the time being.
