This is a review of Grizzly 3-18X56 HD (SCOL-67). from Vector Optics User Group-Global.
This time I put one of Vector's hunting optics under the magnifying glass. This is the Grizzly 3-18X56 HD optic.
The packaging already gives a premium impression.
Contents: instruction manual, cleaning cloth, plastic key, shade extension, mounting rail.
Magnification 3-18. The front lens diameter is 56 mm. Its tube is 30 mm in diameter, matte black, and is made of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. Its length is 343 mm, and it weighs 770 grams. It is waterproof to IP56 and nitrogen-filled. Its impact resistance is 1000 G. Its reticle is German G4 Fiber, the dot can be adjusted in six stages. Its viewing distance is 100 mm, and its lens is multi-layer coated. The parallax can be adjusted from 10 yards to infinity. Diopter adjustment is possible betwen -2 and +2.
Thanks to the HD resolution lens, the image is clear, sharp and distortion-free. The dot in the center is clearly visible even in bright light conditions. The 56 mm front lens provides a clear image even in twilight thanks to its excellent light transmission. Its turrets respond well to adjustment and can be locked, so accidental adjustment is impossible. The lenses are kept clean by the hinged lens caps.
Positives:
- 56 mm HD lens
- sunshade extension
- lens cap
- lockable turrets
- illuminated dot
- parallax adjustable from 10 yards
Negatives:
- battery not included
- not suitable for Hunter Field Target shooting
This optic is not suitable for the Hunter Field Target shooting I do, so I would specifically recommend it for hunting and long-range shooting.
In terms of price-performance ratio, this is a great hunting optic that competes with higher-end optics.
