Vector Optics is pleased to announce that Shanghai Sunclear Vector Optics Trading Co., Ltd., the company’s Shanghai operating entity, has completed a SMETA 4-Pillar audit conducted by SGS in China on July 9–10, 2026. The audited entity is also a registered Sedex member.
This independent assessment reflects our ongoing commitment to responsible business practices, workplace well-being, transparency, and continuous improvement.

SMETA stands for Sedex Members’ Ethical Trade Audit. Developed by Sedex, it is one of the world’s most widely used social audit methodologies. It provides a consistent framework for assessing workplace practices against applicable local laws and internationally recognised standards, including the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code.
Unlike a traditional certification, SMETA does not use a simple pass-or-fail model. It helps businesses identify risks, strengthen management systems, and make measurable improvements over time.
The audit provides a broad assessment across four key areas:
●Labour Standards: Responsible employment practices, fair treatment, wages, working hours, and workers’ rights.
●Health & Safety: Workplace safety, emergency preparedness, employee well-being, and risk management.
●Environment: Environmental policies, resource management, and the reduction of environmental impact.
●Business Ethics: Integrity, transparency, anti-bribery practices, and responsible business conduct.
Completing the SMETA 4-Pillar audit is an important step in strengthening how we manage our social, environmental, and ethical responsibilities.
At Vector Optics, we believe that creating reliable optical products goes together with operating responsibly. We will continue reviewing our practices, addressing areas for improvement, and building greater trust with our employees, partners, customers, and communities worldwide.
Responsible Business. Continuous Improvement.
