August 2026 was a dynamic month for Vector Optics, bringing together competition, communication, and product innovation across several international stages. From the demanding 100-yard Benchrest range at the Pyramyd AIR Cup in the United States to practical shooting events in Indonesia and Aruba, each event gave us an opportunity to connect with shooters, observe optics in real competition environments, and better understand the evolving needs of the global shooting community.
These experiences are about more than scores. They allow us to listen directly to competitors, exchange ideas with experienced shooters, and collect valuable feedback that can inspire future product development. August also marked the arrival of four new compact binoculars, extending the Vector Optics experience beyond the shooting range and into a wider world of outdoor observation.
Pyramyd AIR Cup 2026: Precision Under Pressure
The major highlight of the month came from Marengo, Ohio, where more than 240 competitors gathered for the 10th edition of the Pyramyd AIR Cup.
Featuring 100-yard Benchrest, Field Target, and Gunslynger competitions, the event brought together many of the most dedicated shooters in the airgun community. Changing winds, summer heat, shifting light, and the pressure of competition created a demanding environment in which every point mattered.
Vector Optics ambassadors Nikolai Boldov and Steve Ott delivered strong performances in the 100-yard Benchrest event.
Nikolai secured second place in Group 4 qualifying with 463 points. He competed with the Vector Optics Continental x6 5-30x56 VEC-MBR (SCFF-41), relying on its precise adjustment system and long-range optical performance throughout the match.
Steve Ott finished in 10th place with 461 points using the Vector Optics Continental x6 6-36x56 FFP (SCFF-70). His result reflected the consistency and concentration required to remain competitive in a field filled with highly experienced Benchrest shooters.
Beyond the results, the event provided an important opportunity to spend time with shooters and the wider airgun community. Conversations around match preparation, environmental conditions, optical clarity, turret operation, and long-range observation offered valuable first-hand perspectives. Listening to how competitors use their equipment under pressure helps us better understand the details that matter most when every adjustment and every shot counts.
The Pyramyd AIR Cup also demonstrated the strong sense of community surrounding competitive airgunning. Vector Optics at International IPSC Events
Our international competition presence continued with participation in an IPSC event in Indonesia that took place from August 7 to 9. The match offered another valuable opportunity to connect with the practical shooting community and support competitors in a challenging environment.
Vector Optics was also represented at the 2026 Pan American Handgun Championship in Aruba. The main match took place from August 24 to 29, bringing together competitors from across the Americas for a major international IPSC event.
