From the get-go the Tauron 4-16x44 HD MIL FFP Rifle Scope(SCFF-79) gives a clear impression of being able to punch above its’ own weight class.
The build and finish of the scope is quite impressive.
So far, I have had the pleasure of using the Tauron on both range trips and on successful hunting trips as well as lowlight pest control work.
The VTA-3 MIL reticle is crisp and detailed, yet it is not cluttered or “too busy”. With 0.1 MIL clicks you’ll be able to dial in precisely where you want to land your bullet or pellet depending on your choice of firearm. For ease of use when using hold overs or hold unders, the sub tensions are in half and quarter divisions in the reticle.
Furthermore, the outer parts of the reticle are divided into 0.1 sub tensions, allowing you to range your target based on known size of target divided with measured MILS of target x 10.

Picture is crisp and the reticle is very sharp, making this optics a fine choice for both range work or daylight and lowlight hunting adventures. During a non-hunting trip, I mounted the scope on a tripod and zoomed in on a heard of red deer 8-900m away. Even at that distance, the optical capabilities of the Tauron allowed me to get a clear visual impression of the wild life as well as being able to gender confirm them.
The turrets on the Tauron are not locked; however, this is not a problem during practical use. They have sufficient resistance. Small bumps and scrapes will definitely not alter any settings on your Tauron.
The parallax allows you to get a clear view of your target regardless of it being at 10m or 1000m and the Illumination gets you on target even during reduced light and visibility.

The Tauron is a well-made and budget friendly scope. Whether you are an air rifle, rim fire or center fire shooter, you will not be disappointed with the Tauron 4-16x44 SCFF-79
Despite the 44mm of the objective lens, it still has great light intake that will allow for lowlight hunting. During my initial use of this scope, I have successfully hunted deer and taken part in pest control.
Finally, if you are into Tolkien as well as daytime hunting scopes, you’ll get a kick out of this. In Tolkien's Elvish languages, Tauron means "Lord of Forests".
