Is it possible to help do a “Box Testing“ of the adjustment ?

(1) Tighten the rifle

(2) Put a paper at 100 yds(MOA) / meters(MIL)

(3) Adjust the elevation turret from the "Up" to "Down" , adjust the windage turret from the “left” to “right”

(4) Record the distance that reticle's movement on the paper

If the “Box testing” works well. Please check below 5 tips

(1) Are the rings installed too tightly ? (The suggested screws Torque is 15-18 Inch-pounds, Over torqueing the ring screws will cause excess pressure on the tube, which will cause problems when adjusting the reticle/adjustment.)

(2) Has the windage or elevation turret been adjusted to the ultimate position ? For example the most left/right or the most up/down.  (Reason : “ windage adjustment ”” elevation adjustment ”, they are both adjusted in the same inner tube of the riflescope which means the windage or elevation adjustment will influence each other )

(3) Would like to know the height of the center of the scope from the barrel (Attached picture for reference)

(4) Is it possible to tell me the distance riflescope used ? what is your bullet drop at such distance ？

(5) Have a try to exchange the position of front ring with back ring.

Many times, problems thought to be with the scope are actually mounting problems. Be sure the mounts are properly torqued to the rifle and the scope is secured so it doesn’t twist or move in the rings. An insufficient windage or elevation adjustment range may indicate problems with the base mount, base mount holes drilled in the rifles receiver, or barrel/receiver alignment.

First, please examine the factors below:

(1) Is it your first time shooting that scope not able to hold zero with a group issue ?

(2) Your rifle and caliber

(3) Your shooting distance

(4) The group result on shooting target paper (Or do you remember the point of impact’s spread deviation? Right? Left ? Up? Down?)

Second, many issues that may cause poor bullet grouping:

(1) Be sure that rings are correctly torqued to 15-18 in/lbs.

(2) Be sure that all screws on the rifle’s action are properly tightened.

(3) Be sure the rifle barrel and action are clean and free of excessive oil or copper fouling.

(4) Maintain a good shooting technique and use a solid rest.

(5) Some rifles and ammunition don’t work well together—try different ammunition and see if accuracy improves.

(6) Be careful, scope maybe with “parallax issue” if not adjusted well.

The fact of having the red dot on the scope, in my case of high magnification (x5-30), is to make it easier to be able to shoot a hunting animal if it comes very close to me. It is true that I have to raise my face a little, but I have the reference of where to rest it. So for close and fast shots, it does the job.

There are also other mounts that attach it directly to the tube, and it is not as high as in the picture.
